Ko Lanta Diving Center

Ko Lanta Diving Center first opened their doors in 1991 as the very first PADI diving company based in the south of Thailand. Ko Lanta Diving Center went on to become the first TDA Diving Association member dive centre and CMAS 5 Star Examiner Academy in Thailand and are now also a CMAS 5 Star TEC Academy.

Located in the heart of Baan Saladan amidst their own German Bakery, Ko Lanta Diving Center is a predominantly German-run dive school managed by underwater photographer and author Christian Mietz.

Ko Lanta Diving Center offers the full range of PADI recreational and CMAS TEC diving courses up to Instructor level and Nitrox and Rebreather courses are also available.

Daily trips visit all the best spots in the southern Andaman Sea including Hin Daeng and Muang and the Koh Haa group of Islands, onboard their purpose built 20m diving boat M/V Choksomboon 1.

With subsidiary booking offices located in Lanta Villa Resort and Southern Lanta Resort, Ko Lanta Diving Center offers facilities for test-dives and dive training at the main beach next to the Lanta Island Resort and the Relax Bay Tropicana Resort. Free pickups and transfers are available for visitors of the diving school.

Ko Lanta Diving Center’s motto “Diving – simply, because it’s fun”, is combined with the necessary emphasis on diving safety with the aim of providing the maximum level of individual freedom while diving. A diving guide (Diving Instructor or practised Divemaster) is available with a maximum of 4 divers tp a guide if you would like one. Experienced divers can, of course, explore the reefs on their own in buddy groups, after they’ve listened to the detailed diving site descriptions and briefings. Nitrox and rebreathers are available for qualified divers.

On board the dive boat there are ‘book boxes’ with extensive literature to enable their divers to identify the tropical sea fish and other marine life witnessed during their dives.

If you’re bringing your own dive equipment, please note that Ko Lanta Diving Center provides 12L alu tanks with INT connection (if you’re bringing your own DIN regulator – please remember to bring a DIN-to-INT adapter).
